Making cookies with kidsWe spend a lot of time talking about bathrooms. We talk about showers. We talk about bathtubs. We talk about cleaning them, enjoying them, and updating them. Heck, we’ve even talked about what to read while you’re sitting in them.

And while all this bathroom talk is right up our alley – it’s what we do after all – we wanted to take a break and talk about a little something that might make you need to throw your kids into the bathtub ASAP.

That’s right, we’re talking about cooking with your kids. Why? In part because it’s one of the easiest ways to get a picky eater to eat. But mostly, it’s because food rocks. Because dinners with the family are amazing. And, because there are few better reasons for telling your kid to jump in the shower than a face smeared with chocolate.

And on that note, here are 5 of our favorite recipes to make with kids:

Chocolate Fudge Cupcakes

These decadent chocolate babies are so good it might be hard to share with your helper.

Ham and Pineapple Pita Pizzas

These personalized pizzas are a fun, hands-on dinnertime activity that easily can be tweaked and altered to suit you and your kids’ taste buds.

Donut Hole Breakfast Skewers

Loaded with fruit, and the occasional donut hole, these are sure to be a winner. Plus, who doesn’t love food on a stick?

Baked Spaghetti Squash

Hand your kiddo a fork and a halved, cooked spaghetti squash. Then watch the fun ensue. Once they’ve shredded that baby to bits, they can help you stir together the remaining ingredients before you pop it in the oven. Getting them to eat their veggies has never been so easy.

These sweet bar cookies feature lots of ingredients that need to be dumped and stirred, perfect for a little hands-on chef.
