DIY Body Scrub

We have covered DIY pantry soaps. We have covered DIY bath fizzies. And, we have covered DIY bath teas. All three do-it-yourself gift ideas are amazing. But, we have one more that we just couldn’t help but share. If you are looking for a little last minute addition to your roundup of pampering bath products, this is it – DIY body scrub.

With just four ingredients, this moisturizing scrub is easy to make and easy to use for a smoothing and rejuvenating at-home spa treatment.

The base of this body scrub can be made with Epsom salt of sugar. Which should you pick? It really depends on what kind of scrub you want. Epsom salt will give you a larger grain scrub and sugar will give you a finer grain scrub. (Typically, a larger grain scrub is used less frequently.)

To give your scrub an additional bit of wow, consider coloring is with a shade that mimics the scrub’s scent. For example, you might color your scrub pink to mimic grapefruit or green to mimic eucalyptus.

Supplies

  • 2 Cups Epsom salt or organic cane sugar
  • 1 Cup carrier oil
  • 8 Drops essential oil (or oils)
  • 1 Drop food coloring (optional)

Stir together Epson salt (or sugar) and carrier oil in a mixing bowl until fully combined. Add essential oil one drop at a time, stirring to combine. Add food coloring and stir until evenly distributed.

To Package
While you could certainly package your DIY body scrub in Tupperware, take this opportunity to make your gift a little more special. Select glass canning jars or other attractive sealable containers.

Spoon scrub into the container. Seal it. Then, tie a decorative ribbon around the outside.
